Kna to become collaborative community

Following are excerpts from a letter I recently received after the post on Bangalore Nursing College was made public in this group.

Dear Vinod,

Hope you are fine. I read the post on our "Nursing College". I was really pained to know about it. Can we somehow solve the issue?   I shall be grateful if you can give me a rough idea as to the constitution, functioning, and the current issues faced by the said college. If some financial support is required what is the amount that is required? Will they accept term loan with out interest? ……

In a forum, you cannot predict the number of people who will react? Or how they will react? Some react by posting a reply, some contemplate over the issues and there are some who just go down and solve the issue … Let us be positive …

People are the pulse of any community. Without them, there is no community. Vibrant discussion, new ideas and continually changing polices create healthy communities. The kind of Knanaya community needed today is very different from the traditional community we had, it should take a new form called "collaborative community." Collaboration holds widespread appeal to Knananites from every position on the community spectrum, not because it offers everything to everyone, but because it deals with a process, as distinct from a program, agenda, or outcome. Collaboration prompts us to look at the very process by which we arrive at community choices, whatever those choices happen to be. Collaborative communities are those designed to develop and advance shared visions for the future. Collaboration is a process which does not necessarily lead to agreement on all issues but consensus is achieved when majority of the community agrees that they can live with a proposed solution, even though it may not be their most preferred solution.

Knanaya Family Group is a public place for discussion that allows time for reflection. Group expression of Kna preference is an alternative means for Heads and Association to learn what is and is not popular action. Groups like this will assure that everything the Heads/association does is carefully scrutinized. . Knanaya Family Group assures that there is an adequate amount of attentive Knananites to effectively follow every development in the Community. Beyond being simply attentive, posters and members in this group tend to be among the most effective Knananites.

Instead of going into survival mode and just trying to survive let us take positive actions and thrive.

Regards,
